Gauraiya Culture Festival: First Evening

The audience was immersed in devotion by the singing of Sajan and Swarshansh.

Aarti, Sudha, Satya, Hema, and Sanjoli were honored.

Lucknow.The first day of the cultural festival of Gauraiya Culture Institute was dedicated to the classical singing of Padma Bhushan Sajan Mishra and Swaransh Mishra. On this occasion, Kathak dancer Aarti Shukla, athlete Sudha Singh, litterateur Satya Singh, social worker Hema Pandey and folk singer Sanjoli Pandey were honoured with Gauraiya Nari Shakti Samman.

In the function organized in collaboration with the Culture Department and Lucknow Development Authority, the father-son duo of Padma Bhushan Sajan Mishra and Swaransh Mishra presented a composition- Ae, based on the classical Raga Bageshwari and Teen Taal. Hey friend, how should I go home… how should I bring water from Yamuna… gave a melodious presentation. Among the accompanying artists, Dharamnath Mishra accompanied on harmonium, Vinayak on sarangi and Rajesh Mishra on tabla. In the same sequence, Amit Dixit Ramji’s team beautifully presented the leelas of Krishna on the stage. Suchita Manoj Pandey’s light musical presentation of Awadhi songs like Amwa Mahuva ke Jhume Daari, Tum Utho Siya Shringar Karo, Dhanush Ram ne Tod Hai… kept everyone glued to the stage for a long time.

Starting with Vande Mataram…. songs were sung by Shikha Srivastava, Sunita Singh, Seema Agarwal, Amita Dwivedi, Nikita Mishra, Deepika Mishra, Jyoti Pandey, Madhuri Singh, Lata Tiwari, Neelima Tiwari. Devi Geet- Jai Jai Sharda Bhavani, protect me every moment Bhavani…, Sita’s lover looks good in the middle of the courtyard… Shikha Srivastava’s dance on the shade of the new swing captivated everyone. Traditional Awadhi folk songs, including Ramji’s Nakata and congratulations, were sung between songs. Children and youth kept the audience engaged from the stage. Pooja Srivastava performed a bhajan, Mahita Pandey performed a kajri, and Rashmi Singh sang the folk song, “Bol Ram Aaye Siya Ke Saath….” Alongside these performances were performances by Anita Mishra, Arya Srivastava, Ranjana, Gargi, Smriti Mishra, and the BRT Dance Group from Uttarakhand.

President Ranjana Mishra said that on the second day of the festival tomorrow, there will be Sanskrit singing by Madhavi Madhukar Jha, folk song by Radha Srivastava and light music presentation by Yamini Pandey along with dance drama by Sangeeta Ahuja’s group.

On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner GST Sushil Kumar Srivastava, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, State Lalit Kala Academy Vice President Girish Chandra Mishra, Mayor Sushma Kharwal, singer Vimal Pant, LIC Divisional Manager Ajay Srivastava, poet Mohammad Ali Sahil, former Programme Officer of Culture Department Kamlesh Pathak, High Court Registrar Mahendra Bhishma and Deputy Commissioner Kanhaiyalal Tiwari were present. Utkarsh Dwivedi coordinated the event, along with Gagan Sharma and Mithu Rai.
