Lucknow's artists are teaching the nuances of art in Maha Kumbh Prayagraj Lucknow.
The Village Department of Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with the Culture Department of Uttar Pradesh Government has organized fifteen day workshops in government and non-government schools of Karchana and Chaka tehsils.
Experienced artists from Lucknow have been selected to provide training in vanishing arts from January 8 to January 22. Folk singer Kusum Verma, popularly known as Culture Didi, is providing training to 55 children in the Awadhi folk song and dance workshop.
In the traditional form of folk songs, training of Banna-Banni, Kumbh Mela Geet, Kajri, Faag, Holi and Devi Stuti is being provided to the children of Late RP. Jyoti Kiran Ratan, a skilled artist in Lucknow’s best folk art, is training the children of Khan Patti Maheba in Rangoli.
Jyoti Ratan said that keeping in mind the glory of Maha Kumbh, the traditional Chowk and Rangoli which is made on every puja occasion and is a part of different states of the country has been taught, which will be presented by the children in the Kala Kumbh pandal.
Rangoli workshop on how to make a Chauk to decorate the house with Chauk related to each fast, festival. Mostly waste material like sand, soil, cow dung, bran, pulse husk along with water paint is being used to make Rangoli. Not only this, the story and importance associated with each traditional rangoli is also being told.
In teaching magic, the famous magician trainers of Lucknow, Aftab and Suresh, are surprising the children with new magic tricks or sleight of hand. The children are also learning happily and with fun. The performances of the children along with the artists of Lucknow will be organized in the Kala Kumbh Mela pandal on 21st and 22nd January.
